Image Library
Upload, browse, organize, and manage your photos in the Media Moana image library
The Image Library (/medias) is the central hub of Media Moana. Every image you upload, generate, or edit lives here. This guide covers everything you can do on the library page — uploading, browsing, organizing with folders, filtering, and managing your files.
Adding images
The top-right corner of the library offers three ways to bring images in:

| Upload | Pick files from your device or drag and drop them onto the page. Uploads run concurrently with progress tracking and automatic deduplication (identical files are detected via SHA-1 hash and skipped). |
| Generate | Create new images with AI. Choose an AI preset (or enter a custom prompt), pick a target folder, set the count, and kick off a generation job. |
| Draw | Open a blank canvas, configure its dimensions, and draw something from scratch in the built-in editor. |
All new images land in the folder you currently have selected (or the root folder if none is selected).
Folder organization
The left sidebar has two tabs: Folders and Filters. The Folders tab shows your folder tree.
Creating folders
Click the + icon that appears when you hover over any folder to create a subfolder inside it. You can nest folders as deep as you like.
Renaming, moving, and deleting
Hover over a folder to reveal its action menu:
- Rename — change the folder name
- Move — relocate the folder (and its contents) under a different parent
- Delete — remove the folder (you will be asked to confirm)
The root folder (/) cannot be renamed, moved, or deleted.
Folder toolbar
Above the folder tree you will find a small toolbar:
- Search — type to filter the tree by folder name
- Refresh — reload the folder list
- Expand all / Collapse all — quickly open or close every branch
- Sort — order folders by Name A-Z, Name Z-A, Newest, or Oldest
Trash
Below the folder tree there is a Trash button. Click it to see all trashed images. From trash you can Restore an image back to the library or Delete Forever to permanently remove it. The Empty Trash button in the toolbar deletes everything in trash at once.
Browsing images
View modes
The toolbar on the right side offers four view modes:

| Card | Fixed-height grid. Good for a uniform, scannable layout. |
| Masonry | Pinterest-style layout where each card matches the image's aspect ratio. Shows more of each photo. |
| List | Table view with columns for name, size, type, folder, albums, and date. Best for scanning metadata quickly. |
| Fullscreen | Immersive masonry view that hides the sidebar and toolbar. Press Esc to exit. |
Your view mode choice is saved and persists across sessions.
Sorting
Use the Sort dropdown in the toolbar to order images by:
- Modified date (default)
- Name
- Size
- Created date
- Width / Height
- Aspect ratio
Click the arrow button next to the dropdown to toggle between ascending and descending order.
Card quick actions
Hover over any image card to reveal quick action buttons at the bottom — Edit, Process, AI Process, Download, Delete, Rename, and View Original Quality.
Overlay info
Click the info icon in the toolbar to toggle overlay badges on each card. When enabled, cards show quick metadata like AI processing status, image dimensions, and file size directly on the thumbnail.
Infinite scroll
The library loads images in pages of 60. As you scroll down, the next batch loads automatically — no pagination buttons needed. The counter in the toolbar (e.g. "60 / 2320") shows how many images have been loaded out of the total.
Searching and filtering
Search bar
The search box at the top of the page performs a full-text search across image names, tags, and metadata. Results update as you type (with a short debounce).
Filters sidebar
Switch to the Filters tab in the left sidebar to narrow results with faceted filters. Filters are grouped into expandable sections:
Basic filters
- Favorites — show only favorited images
- Published Status — published or unpublished
- Folder — limit to a specific folder
- Source — how the image was created (Upload, AI Edit, AI Generate, Draw)
- Status — processing status
Dimensions and file properties
- Size — file size range
- Width / Height — pixel dimension ranges
- Aspect Ratio — landscape, portrait, square, etc.
- Mime Type — JPEG, PNG, WebP, and more
- Created Date — date range picker
Camera and EXIF data
- Camera Make — e.g. Apple, Canon, Nikon
- Camera Model — e.g. iPhone 16 Pro Max, EOS R5
- Lens Model
- Exposure Program
- White Balance
- Metering Mode
- Flash
- ISO
- Aperture
- Focal Length
- Shutter Speed
- Exposure Compensation
Location and date
- Date Taken
- Year Taken
- Country
- State / Province
- County / District
- City
Active filters appear as chips in the main toolbar. Click the × on any chip to remove that filter, or use Clear All to reset everything.
Selecting images and batch actions
Selecting
- Single select — hover over a card and click the checkbox in its top-left corner
- Select all — click the checkbox in the toolbar to select every image in the current view
When at least one image is selected, a floating toolbar appears at the top of the screen showing the selected count and available actions.
Batch actions
From the floating toolbar you can:

| AI Process | Run an AI preset (background removal, upscaling, etc.) on the selection as a batch job |
| Parse | Use AI to analyze and extract metadata from the selected images |
| Download | Download the selected files |
| Trash | Move selected images to the trash |
| Clone | Duplicate the selected images (counts toward your media quota) |
| Move | Move selected images to a different folder |
| Album | Add or remove the selection from albums |
| Publish / Unpublish | Make selected images public or private |
Image detail view
Click any image card to open the detail view — a full-screen overlay with the image on the left and a metadata sidebar on the right.
Detail toolbar
The toolbar across the top of the detail view provides quick actions:
- Edit — open the image in the Photo Editor
- Process / AI Process — apply a preset to this image
- Download — download the original file
- Rename — change the file name
- View Original Quality — load the full-resolution version
- Clone — duplicate the image
- Move — move to another folder
- Album — manage album membership
- Publish / Unpublish — toggle public visibility
- Share — open a panel with social sharing buttons and a copyable public URL
- Favorite — toggle the heart icon to mark the image as a favorite
- Delete — move the image to trash
- Info panel toggle — show or hide the metadata sidebar
Use the arrow buttons or swipe to navigate between images without closing the detail view.
Metadata tab
The sidebar's Metadata tab displays comprehensive information about the image:
- Basic info — file name, last modified date, file size, dimensions, mime type, and image count
- EXIF / camera data — date taken, camera make and model, lens, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure program, metering mode, flash status, white balance, and more
- GPS / location — latitude, longitude, country, state, city (when available)
- Software — the application or device firmware that produced the file
- Copyright — embedded copyright metadata
Share tab
The Share tab lets you share a published image via:
Facebook, Email, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Telegram, Twitter/X, WhatsApp, and Line.
A QR code is also generated for quick mobile sharing.

Tips
- Drag and drop files anywhere on the library page to start an upload immediately.
- Use folders for structure, filters for discovery. Folders are great for organizing by project or shoot. Filters are great for slicing across your whole library by camera, date, location, or file type.
- Batch + AI presets = power workflow. Select dozens of images, pick an AI preset like "Remove Background", and let the batch job run in the background while you keep working.
- Overlay info is handy for quickly spotting which images have been AI-processed and checking dimensions without opening the detail view.
