What we’ve been shipping.

An album opens on how it looks when shared: three tabs — Preview, Photos and Share — and on Share, who can open its link and the ways to send it: the link, a photo frame, print or PDF, a photobook.

Make a photobook: print-ready PDFs of an album — its pages and its cover — at a Blurb or Lulu size, laid out in the album's template from your full-size photos, made in your browser. Upload them as your own book; no link needed, nothing sold.

Share links start as a draft: set up an album's link, see exactly what the people you send it to will get — its page on a phone or a computer, the card a pasted link shows, the printed pages, the photo frame — then publish it.

Templates for a shared album — Gallery, Film (a full-screen slideshow), Story (the album as a long page in chapters by day and place) and Contact Sheet (numbered frames, the highlights circled) — chosen on the album's Preview tab. Every album can also play as a slideshow.

Contact Sheet in three looks, chosen under the templates on an album's Preview tab: Clean, the sheet on the page; Proof print, the frames as strips of black film on photo paper, the camera and the day along their edge; and Lightbox, slides in card mounts on a lit table, with a loupe that follows a mouse. Every look prints as Clean.

Contact Sheet options: four, five or six frames a row on a computer, or as many as fit, and a new row each day under its date and places. The sheet's head says how many frames, over which days, from which cameras, and a line says what the circles and numbers mean.

Gallery in three looks, chosen under the templates on an album's Preview tab: Rows, the cover across the screen and the highlights as a spread — one large, two stacked beside it; Portfolio, the album's words in a column that stays put beside the photos in columns; and Exhibition, every photo framed on a wall with a label under it, and a red dot on the ones a visitor loves.

Gallery option: group the photos by day, each day under its date and places. A Gallery's head says which days the album spans.

Story in three looks, chosen under the templates on an album's Preview tab: Essay, a magazine page with each photo's number, place and settings in the margin and a closing line of what the album holds; Itinerary, the chapters as stops on a line down the page, the route under the title and a day without photos dashed; and Book, two-page spreads with page numbers and contents, single pages on a phone.

Story options: a new chapter for each day and place, for each day, or one chapter for the whole album; and the chapters listed under the title, each a link to it.

Copy as: the same link, opening in another template — the slideshow for the family group, the Story for the weekend.

Film options: four, six or ten seconds a photo; a slow zoom, a dissolve or a straight cut between them; your captions as subtitles; and at the end, the album or the film again.

Only people you add: limit an album to a list of email addresses. They open it with a 6-digit code sent to them — no account needed — or go straight in when signed in to Media Moana with that address, and you see when each one last opened it.

Invitations by email: publish an album shared with only the people you add, and Media Moana emails each of them its cover, a few of its photos and your note, with a button that opens the album without a code. Replies go to you; resend from the list.

Email this album: on a link anyone can open, type up to 20 addresses and Media Moana sends each the same email — cover, photos, your note, a button that opens the album in the template you choose. A password is never in it: they still need the one you give them. You see who opened it.

Use as a photo frame: a link that plays an album full-screen on a tablet at home, round and round, picking up the photos you add.

Print / Save as PDF on every shared album — as an album, a contact sheet or postcards, on A4 or US Letter — made in the visitor's browser, free.

Captions for the photos in an album, and Draft captions to write first drafts from the analysis — and chapter titles for a Story — for you to accept or discard. Drafting uses AI actions.

Highlights first: a shared album opens on its best photos, then all of them — by your own star ratings when the files carry them, otherwise by the analysis's.

The people you share with can ♥ the photos they love, without an account. You see how many hearts each photo got and how often the album was opened, and a summary of the week's views and hearts arrives by email on Mondays.

Choose what visitors see beside the photos, on the album's Preview tab: the day each was taken, the city or the country, the camera and settings, your captions, the number of photos.

A pasted link shows the album's cover, title and photo count in WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack and other messaging apps — or a plain card, if you prefer.

A small line at the foot of a shared page says it was shared with Media Moana; in Film, Story, Contact Sheet or a Gallery look other than Rows it names the template and links to its page.

Visitors can copy a link to one photo, and people who come back to an album you've added to see what is new since their last visit.

Shared with me: albums others share with your email address, and the ones you keep with Keep in Media Moana, are in your library's left column.

Save to my Media Moana: when you allow original downloads, someone with a Media Moana account can copy the album into their own library.

Your star ratings, pick and reject flags, color labels and keywords from Lightroom, Bridge, Capture One or Photo Mechanic are read from inside the JPEG, HEIC and DNG files you upload — searchable and filterable.

An album made from a folder or a search offers the photos that have come in since, for you to add or dismiss.

Shared albums show every photo whole, in rows at its own shape, and load sharper copies on large and high-resolution screens.

Photos you upload while an album is open are added to that album.

Every place in your library has its own address: reload, bookmark, or go Back and Forward between folders, albums and photos.

Opening a folder shows its own photos, with the folders inside it as cards above them.

When some files in an upload don't make it, the upload panel stays open as a report, grouped by reason, with Retry for the ones a second try can fix.

Albums have the same layouts and tile sizes as the rest of the library.

Arrange moves several photos at once — select them and drag, or Move to start / Move to end — and Sort puts the whole album in date-taken or name order, with Undo.

The library's toolbar shows each filter once, as a chip under the search box, and the year is a menu beside the sort.

Error and warning messages stay on screen until you close them.

Albums. Make one from a whole folder, subfolders included, or gather photos from anywhere — a folder, All photos, a search. A photo can be in as many albums as you like and takes no extra storage. An album is what you share.

Arrange an album by dragging, choose its cover and add a description; its shared page opens on them.

Visitors can zoom into a shared photo — to every pixel of the full photo when you allow original downloads.

A new photo viewer: check focus at 100% with a click or Z, page through a burst at the same zoom, change the background around the photo, and read its full details beside it.

Search by meaning as well as by word, and by place, camera, lens and year. Leave words out with a minus sign, keep them together in quotes, or type a filter such as camera:sony or taken:2023.

Suggestions under the search box from your own photos — places, tags, cameras, lenses — each with how many photos it has.

Presets for where the photos are going: sharing, messages, Instagram, prints from 4×6 to 16×20 inches cropped or on a white border, and copies carrying your own logo.

Two AI actions: Reduce Noise and Remove Dust & Scratches.

Upload a folder and its subfolders come in as folders.

A Usage page in your account: what takes up your storage, and which photos your AI actions went on.

The editor does what a photo needs before it goes out — crop, rotate, flip and straighten — and saves a new full-size copy made from the original.

Presets and AI actions share one Process dialog, with a proof of the result on your own photo.

The library opens in date-taken order, newest first, grouped by month, in three layouts — Squares, Rows and Masonry — or on the map. Similar photos and Unfiled have their own places in the left column.

Filters drop down from the search box, and lay out ISO, aperture, shutter speed, focal length and year as a histogram of how you shoot.

Your plan and billing are on one page, which also shows when and why a plan ended.

Publishing single photos at a public address, and sharing a folder as such: an album is the one thing you share.

Set your name and logo once in your account, and every album you share opens with them.

An optional watermark: your logo on the photos visitors see. Originals you let them download stay unmarked.

Restore Old Photo: restores the faces, adds color to a black-and-white or faded print, and makes it four times larger — in one go.

Keyboard and screen-reader fixes across the library and its dialogs.

A home for your camera photos: keep the originals and RAW files exactly as they came off the card, find any shot by what is in it or how you took it, and share a shoot with one link.

Plans priced by storage — Free, Pro and Studio — with every photo analyzed and searchable on every plan. Nothing is priced per photo, and there is nothing to top up.

Every photo is analyzed after upload — the scene, objects, text in the frame, landmarks and events, how many people, a star rating — and all of it is searchable, with typos and synonyms allowed. You can turn analysis off in your account's privacy settings.

Share a shoot as a link anyone can open in a browser, without an account: viewing copies or your originals, the whole shoot as one zip, an expiry date or a password. Location is left out unless you keep it.

A map of where your photos were taken, a timeline by date taken, and Similar photos to keep the best frame of each burst.

Export your whole library — originals in their folders, a metadata file per photo — at any time, on any plan.
